Meg Tidd has been with LTI Optics since May of 2007 as an optical engineer. She has worked on material measurements, lamp modeling, optical design projects, and Photopia training seminars.
Meg graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in May of 2007 with a Bachelors degree in Architectural Engineering with emphasis in Lighting Engineering. Being the top student of the Architectural Engineering program, she had earned several awards as shown below. Meg’s education included several classes focusing on different aspects of lighting, including luminaire design and radiative transfer.
Meg’s optical design experience includes the development of several design types. Meg has also visited several photometric labs, luminaire manufacturing facilities, and lamp manufacturing facilities to gain an understanding of their processes.
Meg held various internships during college. She worked at Kiewit Construction Company, one of North America’s largest construction and mining companies, where she gained experience in project management, field and office engineering and was awarded for exceeding expectations. She also worked as a lighting designer at Robert Singer & Associates in Aspen, CO. In addition to the internships, Meg held jobs through the University. For three semesters, she contributed to the Outreach program by creating and editing engineering-based lesson plans for elementary and middle school students through TeachEngineering.com. In this position, she also assisted in research on the topic of women’s interest in engineering. For two semesters, Meg was a grader and teaching assistant for lighting classes, where she used her experience to guide other students in their learning. For one semester, Meg was an assistant and graphic designer for Dr. Robert Davis’ lighting research work.
