Photopia™ is the perfect optical design software for your IR illumination projects. Photopia has been used to design light pipes and lenses for IR based proximity sensors, lenses for thermal sensing, reflectors for distributing IR energy and many more applications. Photopia includes a library of sources and materials to make designs easy, as well as Parametric Optical Design Tools to allow you to design and optimize optical surfaces to create a great performing optic fast.
Photopia is a plug-in for both SOLIDWORKS® and Rhino®. If you are not using SOLIDWORKS, then Photopia for Rhino is the best option since it includes a full seat of Rhino and allows you to work with IGES or STEP CAD models from any other program, including CATIA®, SOLIDWORKS®, AutoCAD®, CREO®, SolidEdge®, and Inventor®.
