New Plot Options in SOLIDWORKS

Photopia for SOLIDWORKS and Rhino can now display grayscale, true color and false color plots, including legends. Plots can be of traditional metrics like illuminance, but also irradiance and many other custom options, including Delta u'v', allowing you to visualize the numeric color difference.

Smooth Lenses | Equation Driven Lenses

Within Solidworks you can now define smooth spherical lenses by their equation properties. The raytrace then uses this high resolution lens geometry to ensure that rays are traced along their true paths, avoiding the approximation with a meshed model of the lens.

One application of this tool is to create a projection image of your luminaire to analyze LED blending and also compute luminance across your luminaire.
