Photopia has tools to quickly help you design and optimize TIR collimators based on relevant optical parameters.
TIR Collimators are an optic style that utilizes total internal reflection (TIR) to control the high angle light emitted by the lamp. Commonly these optics feature a convex feature in the center to control the light in the direct to low angles from the source. A TIR collimator has the ability to control the lamp's entire beam, making it a useful optic for applications where you need to limit field light or maximize peak intensity.
